*****Highly recommended first sign language book! I purchased this book for my one year old signing son as soon as it came out and am very pleased I did. It’s an excellent book for teaching the ABC’s to small children whether or not you want to incorporate signing into your child’s life. The artwork is silly and creative for ABC’s. It’s not your typical “A is for apple” stuff. The kid centered ideas in the front of the book (for using the sign language alphabet) are great. This would be a unique and exciting gift idea for best friends who are a little older- say kindergarten and elementary age- and would get a kick out of having a “secret” language and being able to “talk” in quiet places! I just had my second child and received these five board books as a baby gift. We were also given “Sign Language for Kids” so our 4 yr old can learn more sophistocated signs. What a perfect gift! We LOVE these books and are so excited to be learning a little sign language together at home. ~Dana in NJ

FAVORITE SIGN BOOK!
My daughter really likes Lora Heller’s “Baby Fingers: I’m Feeling. . .” board book. There are several books in this series and I haven’t had a chance to get the rest of them, yet. But I’m planning on buying this series because it’s so good. And I’m very picky! It has pictures of toddlers and children making the sign and then a description of the sign beside it. My daughter likes to copy the kids in the pictures.

The Best Board Book Series
Finally, a board book series teaching REAL AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE through photos of REAL kids signing. These are beautiful, and my baby is now signing. So cool.

Sign Language for ALL Kids!
I just purchased Sign Language for Kids for my school library and several personal copies to give as gifts. This is a fabulous book that includes signs for ALL kids, a range of ages, ethnic backgrounds, abilities… it’s the best I’ve seen.
